Description:Speech Ally EM is a companion product to Speech Ally. Users build words, sentences, and longer texts phonetically rather than by spelling, to compensate for compromised reading and writing skills.
Like Speech Ally, Speech Ally EM is a versatile tool that:
- plays a part in speech therapy conducted by medical professionals.
- lets aphasic patients communicate with sound, using a straightforward phonetic approach.
- is a welcome tool in the home setting, enhancing the lives of patients, family members, and caregivers.
After building a message phonetically, the user can send the app-generated spoken message in an email to one or more recipients. This allows aphasic and agraphic people, who find the telephone and written email impossible or difficult to use, to communicate with anyone who has access to email.
There are several customizations available to the therapist, family member, or caregiver that allow the app to be tailored to the patient as his or her abilities change.
Speech Ally EM also allows users to save what they create. Users can later add to saved phonetic texts to create longer ones. The app allows users to build and store long phonetic texts – up to about 8 minutes of spoken message. Patients can even use Speech Ally EM to construct stories or other longer forms.
