Hún byggir efnið á áratuga reynslu í starfi með íslenskum börnum. Grunnhugmyndafræðin var þróuð með Dr. Bernard Silverstein við University of Tennessee (d. 2003). Smáforritið tekur mið af því í hvaða röð íslensk börn tileinka sér talhljóðin í máltökunni og hvernig auðveldast er að kenna hljóðin. Byrja má skipulega á auðveldari hljóðum sem koma fyrir hjá mjög ungum börnum og halda áfram yfir í þau hljóð sem erfiðara er að segja eða velja það hljóð sem æfa þarf sérstaklega hverju sinni.
Lærum og leikum með hljóðin er notað víða í leik- og grunnskólum á Íslandi og er sýnt í barnaefni Stöðvar 2.

Smellið á blikkandi sjónvarp efst uppi til hægri til að heyra söguna í upphafi.

Í fyrstu umferð þarf nemandi að klára öll borðin í hverju hljóði og fá 4 stjörnur. Annars hoppar Hoppi ekki áfram. Svo æfir barnið hljóðin í röð. Þannig opnast á öll hljóðin síðar og nemandi getur valið hljóð af handahófi. Markmiðið er að þjálfa ákveðin hljóð fyrst og gera þetta með stigvaxandi þyngd. Svo má leika sér að vild.

Frog game 2

In Frog Game 2 you help Hoppi find the Magic wand and solve some games. As you get closer to the Magic Castle you continue to play fun and interactive games with the sounds /h, k, g, f, v, ng, ch, j/. The Sun guides you at every level as far as what to do. You collect stars on the way and can see how far you are in the game.The letters that are not at the beginning of words are underlined in the words they appear.

1. Click the blinking TV in the upper right corner to hear the story in the beginning.
2. In the first round the student needs to finish all the sounds in each “board” first through the difficulty level provided. Then they can play as they want and go back and forth. This is important so that they do not skip through everything to begin with.
3. In Frog Games 1, 2 & 3 you play with the sounds provided in each one.

Froskaleikirnir segja frá froskinum Hoppa sem missir málið eftir að galdrakarl lagði á hann álög. Í þremur mismunandi sjálfstæðum hljóðgreiningarleikjum fyrir barnafjölskyldur þarf Hoppi að leysa ýmsar þrautir til að komast í kastalann sem geymir lausnina að því að hann nái málinu aftur. Börnin æfa íslensku málhljóðin í erfiðleikaröð þeirra, frá fyrsta í gegnum þriðja froskaleikinn, með æfingum í hljóðavitund, hljóðgreiningu, tengingu hljóðs við bókstaf, mynd af orði og skrifuðu orði. Allt eru þetta mjög mikilvægir þættir í hljóðkerfisvitund og nefnuhraða til undirbúnings læsi og lesfimi.

Höfundur smáforritsins er talmeinafræðingur með margra ára reynslu í starfi á Íslandi. Efnistök smáforritsins byggja á rannsóknum um hvaða grunnfærni einstaklingur þarf að hafa til að læra að lesa; m.a. ákveðnum þáttum í hljóðkerfisvitund og úrvinnslu, vitund um letur, gott talmál og að kalla fram hljóðrænar upplýsingar í orðaminni þegar þekkja á skrifuð orð. Smellið á blikkandi sjónvarp efst uppi til hægri til að heyra söguna í upphafi.

Í fyrstu umferð þarf nemandi að klára öll borðin í hverju hljóði og fá 4 stjörnur. Annars hoppar Hoppi ekki áfram. Svo æfir barnið hljóðin í röð. Þannig opnast á öll hljóðin síðar og nemandi getur valið hljóð af handahófi. Markmiðið er að þjálfa ákveðin hljóð fyrst og gera þetta með stigvaxandi þyngd. Svo má leika sér að vild.
